Our Network
Hudson Origin holds dozens of ties to Hudson County’s health professionals. Our network utilizes information from both the American Psychiatric Association and medical researchers who share our vision of spreading awareness on the importance of mental health. Hudson Origin is intended for parents to navigate questions regarding the mental health of their child. To ensure that parents feel comfortable seeking information or asking for guidance, our staff is available to communicate with website users via the Contact Us tab. We understand that seeking care is not always easy and we are here to make that process less stressful by providing positive support, information, and guidance.
About the Developers
Hudson Origin was developed by Eric Kohut and Erika Gonzalez. Both from across the Hudson River, Eric and Erika aim to increase Hudson County’s public health initiatives in pediatric mental health. Under the guidance of Cornell University’s Latin American Studies program and the Office of Undergraduate Biology, their work focuses on improving mental healthcare access within urban populations.

Our Mission
Over the past few decades, published research has emphasized a disparity in pediatric mental healthcare. Neuropsychological screenings, local treatment options, and identifying accurate information can be difficult to consult. Situated in Jersey City, New Jersey, Hudson Origin is a public health initiative that provides a bilingual database, network, and media on pediatric mental health options. Our goal is to mitigate the number of children whose mental health goes mistreated due to barriers that keep families from understanding personal needs and accessible options.
